How I Work — Werthwhile Solutions

What You Can Expect From Every Engagement

These aren't taglines — they reflect how I actually approach client work.

🎯

Understand First

I don't arrive with pre-packaged answers. I take time to understand what's actually happening before recommending anything.

🤝

Direct & Honest

You'll get candid assessments and realistic expectations — not what you want to hear, but what you need to hear to make good decisions.

🔄

Iterative by Nature

Engagements evolve based on what's working and what isn't. I adapt rather than rigidly following a plan that no longer fits.

📊

Practical Over Theoretical

Methodologies are tools, not dogma. I use what works for your context — not whatever's trending in the industry.

👁️

Visibility for All

Progress should be transparent to everyone who needs it. I make sure stakeholders and teams share a clear, accurate picture of where things stand.

🏗️

Leave You Better Off

The goal isn't dependency — it's to leave your team with better habits, clearer processes, and stronger delivery capability than when I arrived.

How a Consulting Engagement Unfolds

01

Initial Conversation

We talk through your current situation — what's working, what isn't, and what you're hoping to improve. No sales pitch, just honest dialogue to see if there's a good fit.

02

Discovery & Assessment

I spend time understanding your team, your processes, your stakeholders, and the actual constraints you're operating under. This prevents me from prescribing solutions that don't fit your reality.

03

Proposal & Agreement

Based on what I've learned, I put together a clear engagement proposal — scope, approach, cadence, and what success looks like. We align on this before any work begins.

04

Embedded Delivery Work

I get to work alongside your team. This might mean facilitating planning sessions, maintaining your backlog, writing requirements, coaching practices, or building stakeholder visibility — depending on scope.

05

Review & Continuation

We regularly check in on what's improving and what still needs work. Engagements evolve based on results, and I'm transparent about when the work is done versus when continued support adds value.

How a Website Project Works

01

Discovery Call

We talk about your business, your goals for the website, your audience, and your brand. I ask a lot of questions — the more context I have, the better the result.

02

Proposal & Scope

I provide a clear proposal covering pages, features, timeline, and pricing. No hidden costs or scope creep — we agree on what's being built before we start.

03

Design & Build

I design and develop your site using Hostinger or WordPress, depending on your needs. You'll see progress at key milestones and have opportunities to provide feedback.

04

Review & Revisions

You review the complete site and request revisions. I build in a round of revisions to make sure everything feels right before we go live.

05

Launch & Handover

The site goes live on your hosting. I walk you through how to make simple updates and answer any questions. Optional maintenance packages available post-launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with clients outside of Wichita? +
Yes. Most consulting and web design work can be done remotely. I'm based in Maize, KS, and serve clients across Kansas and beyond. For local clients, I'm happy to meet in person when it makes sense.
How long does a website project typically take? +
Most small business websites take 3–6 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on the number of pages, how quickly content is provided, and revision turnaround. I'll give you a realistic timeline in the proposal.
What if I already have a website and just need updates or improvements? +
Absolutely. I work on existing sites too — redesigns, page additions, performance improvements, or just taking over maintenance. Tell me what you have and what you'd like to change.
How are consulting engagements typically structured and priced? +
It depends on the engagement type. Project-based work is typically fixed-price. Retainers are billed monthly at an agreed hours/rate. Hourly arrangements are available for advisory and fractional support. I'll always propose the structure that makes sense for your situation.
I'm not sure exactly what I need. Can you help me figure that out? +
That's exactly what an initial conversation is for. You don't need to arrive with a defined scope — just describe your current situation and what's frustrating you. I'll help clarify what kind of support would actually help.
